Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil is a distinguished banking leader with over 17 years of professional experience and deep expertise in financial management, corporate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic transformation within the financial services industry. He joined Bank Asia PLC on 28 May 2012 as First Vice President in the Finance & Accounts Division and, through sustained performance excellence and leadership capability, progressed to Senior Vice President, Senior Executive Vice President, and ultimately Executive Vice President on 1 July 2024. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Bank.

In his current role, Mr. Khalil provides strategic leadership over the Bank’s entire financial framework, overseeing financial strategy formulation, budgetary governance, asset–liability management, cost optimization, and institution-wide financial risk evaluation. He ensures uncompromising compliance with IFRS, Bangladesh Bank regulations, the Companies Act, the Income Tax Act, and Basel III capital standards. His leadership has strengthened Bank Asia’s corporate governance environment, enhanced the quality and analytical rigor of board-level reporting, and advanced capital planning, business sustainability, and long-term financial resilience.


He also directs the Bank’s statutory audits and financial reporting processes, consistently maintaining the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical financial stewardship. Under his financial leadership, Bank Asia achieved 1st position for its Best Presented Annual Report in Bangladesh, awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), and also secured 1st position among SAARC countries from the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA)—a landmark recognition of the Bank’s excellence in corporate reporting and governance.

Prior to joining Bank Asia PLC, Mr. Khalil served at AB Bank Limited as Assistant Vice President in the Finance Division from 2008 to 2012. He began his professional career in 2005 with ACNABIN, Chartered Accountants, where he gained foundational expertise in auditing, financial control systems, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance practices.

Mr. Khalil is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He holds a Master of Business Studies (MBS) in Accounting from the National University.

His academic achievements and professional journey reflect an enduring commitment to continuous learning, disciplined financial leadership, and the promotion of strong financial governance across the banking sector.
